OpenSFSoldier Front Legacy

Releases

Each build's game and server are one version. A server older than Team Vanilla accepts leaves the list; a player whose game is older or newer than a server's is told which of the two is out of date.

Build 1 protocol 24 · pack format 1 · 5 October 2026

The first build anyone can download, and the first server anyone can run.

Accounts and the list

  • Players sign in with a Team Vanilla account made in the game. A server never sees a password: it is shown a ticket Team Vanilla signed, and checks it itself.
  • Rank, record, SP, Coins, base items, clans, friends and mail are kept by Team Vanilla for every server. Matches on any server are reported there and count the same.
  • The server list: an owner registers a server on the control panel, and it is listed once Team Vanilla can reach it. It answers the list's own question (players, ping) directly.

Servers

  • Server roles (Owner, Admin, Game Master, Moderator), apart from SFLegacy Staff.
  • Channels, kept in channels.cfg and edited in the game's staff panel, with the message of the day.
  • The game types and maps the whole server plays, switched on and off by its Game Masters in the staff panel and kept in games.cfg.
  • The server's own shop and capsules: its custom items for SP, base items at or above Team Vanilla's price, every sale approved by the player at Team Vanilla.
  • Packs: a server's own weapons, maps and characters, built with lsfpack and downloaded by players as they join (50 MB in all).
  • server.cfg checked in full at start: a server never starts on a guess.
  • Recordings of every match, kept 7 days.
  • Windows, and Linux on x86-64 and ARM64, with a systemd unit and a Containerfile.

The game

  • The game for Windows, Linux (x86-64) and Android. On Android the touch screen is the controls in a match, each control where the player arranges it; a controller works too. The macOS game is built on a Mac, and is not in this build yet. The servers take players from every system.
  • All 12 game types, 40 maps, 82 weapons and 12 forces.
  • DirectX 12, DirectX 11 and OpenGL, a frame limit from 30 to 360, any window or the whole screen, in any shape.
  • Xbox, DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, in the menus and in the match.
  • The shop with rentals, the capsule machine and sprays. Every gun is as the game made it: no upgrades.
  • A kit of up to three throwables, taken out in turn with the fourth key, and the weapon bar across the top of the screen after each switch.
  • Friends, whispers, mail, global chat, room invitations and clans with their own emblem maker.
  • Rewards: the sign-in week, hours played, daily quests, Duffle Bags for each rank and events on the calendar.
  • Replays of your own matches, a crosshair of your own, and the radio in four languages.
